July 2013

We started this month with a visit from Jordan's parents.  They traditionally spend the 4th of July in Utah, participating in Plain City days.  Jordan and I had a lot of fun being there with them the year we were engaged and we were glad we could do it again.  We were lucky to get to spend the entire first half of the month seeing a lot of our extended family.
Cousin Bryson followed Kent around trying to give him kisses

This boys mud volley ball team came in 2nd place at Plain City days!

Kent loved watching the dancers at the Stadium of Fire

He also enjoyed the fireworks, but I was constantly worried about the loud noise damaging his little ears so I muffled it with earplugs and his blanket.

After the fourth, we headed back to California with Jordan's parents to spend a few more days with them before our Jones Family reunion in San Diego, celebrating Nanny and Papa's 50th anniversary.

Enjoying the Lego store in Downtown Disney

Making friends with Minnie
Kent has been so nervous of the Disney characters, but Minnie spent so much time playing with him until he wasn't scared anymore.
Having dinner at Goofey's Kitchen

Playing at the beach with Jones cousins

Enjoying the killer whales at Sea World.  Kent loved everything we saw.

Watching the dolphin show with Nanny and Papa
This month we also had the chance to catch up with two of Jordan's best friends from highschool and their wives, Eric and Jessica and Andrew and Ashley.  We had dinner at Red Lobster then went to Eric and Jessica's afterwards where Kent got to play with their two dachshund puppies.

We spent a day up in Salt Lake at a Pioneer Day celebration.  There were a lot of free activities for kids including wagon rides and pony rides.

Playing in the Dino play area at City Creek mall
On the day of the 24th we met Nanny and Papa and Lissa with all of her kids at the Dinosaur Museum at Thanksgiving Point.
As part of the Highland Fling, Kent got to participate in the Cute Baby Contest! He was definitely a charmer, but unfortunately he didn't win (too bad mom didn't submit his picture on time).  But we did win a great prize from the raffle so we were lucky to come home with something fun :)
waiting in line to meet the judges

Our handsome boy.  He is a winner to us for sure!!!
Today Kent had his first experience with play dough.  He was very curious, but a little unsure at the same time.  I think the texture kind of grossed him out....
